Susan Jane Dersch

She was born in October 1941, to Mary Magdelene and Homer Allen.

Predeceased by her parents, she is survived by devoted husband of 55 years, David Dersch; their children by marriage, Laura Jones (Gary) of SC, and Jeffrey Dersch (Cathy); children Linda Potts (David) and Timothy Dersch (Kelley); grandchildren Evin and Megan Murphy (SC); brother David; and cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was a life-long Columbus resident and a graduate of Rosary High School.

Employed by Sun Life Insurance, then becoming a mother and full-time homemaker, she later worked for Dill's Greenhouse, and volunteered at Franklin Park Conservatory Greenhouse.

Susie was a faithful and loving wife, a cook of unparalleled skill, an encyclopedically knowledgeable gardener and an avid Buckeyes, Browns and CBJ fan.

She was unfailingly supportive and fiercely proud of her kids, who are equally proud, and thankful, to call her mom.

The family has honored her wishes by eschewing formal receiving hours.

A Mass and a Spring Life Celebration are pending.

In lieu of sending flowers, Susie preferred they be planted, for pollinators.

Memorial donations may be made to Lifeline of Ohio in her name, and she would encourage all of us to become organ, eye and tissue donors.
