Shane Michael Albaugh, age 17, passed away on Tuesday, June 21, 2011. He was born in Columbus on February 3, 1994, and was entering his senior year at Gahanna Lincoln High School. Shane lived and breathed music, and he shared his talents in the high school Jazz Band, Marching Band, and Gold Band where he played trumpet and was recently elected Band President. He was also the guitarist in the rock band Chasing Euphoria. He was a huge Buckeye fan and excellent student, and he was planning to attend the Fisher College of Business at The Ohio State University. He also had aspirations of playing in The Ohio State University Marching Band. He loved the Pittsburgh Steelers, as well as playing recreational soccer and pick-up basketball games with friends. He enjoyed his job at Subway on Morrison Road. He was always laughing and smiling, and he loved a good hug. Shane was a bright spot in the world, especially to his mom and sister Megan. He is survived by his mother and step-father, Joan and Craig Brown; his father, Craig Albaugh; sisters, Megan Albaugh, Katie Brown and Margy Brown; brother, Cody Albaugh; grandparents, Lawrence and Essie Landenberger, and Roxann Albaugh; step-grandparents, Betty (Gus) Benson and George Brown; uncles, Larry (April) Landenberger, Bruce (Michelle) Landenberger, and Brian (Kelley) Landenberger; aunts, Julie (Larry) Baldwin, Vicki (Andy) Rauch, and Saundra (David) Koppy; as well as many treasured cousins and countless wonderful friends. The family would like to thank the Gahanna Police and Mifflin Township Fire Department for their prompt response and caring follow up. Family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. on Monday, June 27, 2011, at Mifflin Presbyterian Church, 123 Granville St., Gahanna. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday at the church with Pastors Peter Dembroski and Stephanie Boaz officiating. Interment will follow at Mifflin Cemetery.
