Saundra Mae (Zehner) Lawrence passed away on September 3, 2022 after a long and valiant battle with cancer. Saundra lived her entire life in Ohio. Born on October 11, 1935 to William and Dorthea Zehner, she grew up in Ashland, Ohio and graduated from Ashland High School in 1953. She graduated from The Ohio State University, where she was a member of Alpha Phi Sorority. After graduation she taught for 30 years in the Upper Arlington Schools and upon retirement, she enjoyed traveling to London, Spain and the Netherlands with her husband and close friends.
Married in 1958 to Wilbur C. Lawrence, whom she met on a blind date, they raised two children while living in Hilliard, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her parents, as well as her sister Lovina (Skip) Welsh. Left to remember her are her husband, as well as daughter Janis R. Baldwin (Edward) and son James M. Lawrence (Laura); four grandchildren, Daniel (Catie) and Nate Lawrence and Megan and Jack Baldwin; brother-in-law Richard Welsh, nephew Don Welsh and niece Linda Jacobs. An avid Bridge player, she was a member of several Bridge Clubs. She dedicated her life to the love and care of her family and she was the most unselfish person you could ever meet, always putting others’ needs before her own. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
