Ron was born in Miami, Florida on August 31, 1941 to the late Juanita and Francis Hanan. He was a graduate of Texas Tech University. He proudly served his country as a Captain in the Unites States Air Force in Alaska during the Viet Nam War. On May 30, 1965, Ron married the love of his life, Miss Diana L. Mitchell. They celebrated over 45 years together before his passing. Ron began his career as a landscaper and groundskeeper at the NASA Space Center in Houston, TX. He spent the remainder of his career as a corporate CFO. Ron was an avid fly fisherman and grooving bass player who lived with integrity and loved his family and his home on the river in Montana.
Along with his parents, Ron was preceded in death by his sister Carolyn Goldberg, grandmother Mary Nola Bailey and best friend, Patrick Zoerner.
Along with his wife, Diana, Ron is survived by his daughters, Wendy Gaston and Connie (Brian) Mahoney; step father, John Gaston; siblings, Kathy and Gary Gaston. He is also survived by many other loving relatives and friends.
The family will be receiving friends at the Schoedinger Worthington Chapel, 6699 N. High Street, Worthington, OH on Monday 6:00pm until 8:00pm. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at 2:00pm. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery. Contributions may be made to HomeReach Hospice at Riverside Methodist Hospital.
