Ruth Pauline Smith

A funeral service for Ruth Pauline Smith, 94 of Lancaster, formerly of Newark, will be held on Thursday, April 1, 2010 at 3:00 PM at the Criss-Schoedinger Funeral Home with Pastor Diana Circelli officiating.

Ruth was born in Licking County on February 9, 1916 to the late William Henry and Rosetta Myrtle (Bowman) Zigan. She passed away on March 29, 2010 at the Circleville Care Center in Circleville.

Ruth was a production worker with Owens-Corning Fiberglas for nearly 30 years, before she retired in 1976. She enjoyed bingo, bowling and crocheting, but most important in her life was spending time with her loving family.

Survivors include one daughter, Rosetta “Sis” (Larry) Erwin of Lancaster; two sons, Russell (Jocelyn) Smith of Venice, FL and David (Randy) Smith of Wharton, TX; one brother, Carl (Betty) Zigan of Granville; ten grandchildren, Tom, Tim, Todd, Julianne, Darrin, Chuckie, Stacey, Steven, Shannon and Bill; 22 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, William H. Smith in 1993; two sons, Charles and William; and numerous brothers and sisters.
