Ruth Jo Anne Kammer

A memorial service, to celebrate the life of Ruth Jo Anne Kammer, age 77, of Buckeye Lake, will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2014 at 1:00 PM at the Lighthouse Memorial Church, 2600 Walnut Rd. NE, Millersport, Ohio with Pastor Bill Beard officiating. Ruth went to be with Jesus on Saturday, February 8, 2014 at the Selma Markowitz Care Center, operated by Hospice of Central Ohio. She was born in Bremen, Ohio on June 22, 1936 to the late Rev. John W. and Golda (Cornell) Colwell.

She was a retired nurse having worked at the Nashville VA Hospital and also at Licking Memorial Hospital. After retiring, she worked as a private duty nurse. Before her illness, she was very active in her church choir and assisted in vacation bible school. She was a member of the Lighthouse Memorial Church. She was also a member of the Kingdom Seekers, a gospel musical group, which entertained at nursing facilities and other church occasions.

She is survived by her two sons, Wesley E. (Amy) Bentley of Newark and Rick C. (Linda) Bentley of Zanesville; two granddaughters; seven great grandchildren; brother, Kenneth Colwell of Moxahala, Ohio; sister, Phyllis Colwell of Newark; and three nieces and two nephews.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by one granddaughter, Casey R. Bentley.
