To the family of Roger Meyer,

Tried calling Roger recently and found his phones turned off.   So looked for his obit and to my dismay I found it.   I was one of the members of the MS Family Support Group.  Occasionally, my brother-in-law, Dave, my husband Denny and I, would dine with Roger.  Guess we were caught up in our lives ands waited too long for our next dinner.

Roger was a wonderful, kind, caring, intelligent person.  He was willing to help anyone in the group and was very highly thought of as I'm sure he was everywhere he went.  We were all richly blessed to have known him.

For sure he is with our heavenly Father.

Roger was the president of the 1953 graduating class of Ridgeville High School.  All the fun we shared on band trips, following his leadership as our drum major in parades, and our times together in choir and Luther League at St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church are memories many of us will have and cherish.  Since the celebration of our 50th class reunion, every five years and recently more often, we have greatly appreciated and enjoyed his reuniting the classmates.  We thank God for sharing Roger with us.

Ann and Susan, I am so sorry for your loss.  Roger hired me as a student in Residence and Dining Halls in 1985.  I never left the university (still here after 38 years) and much of that was because of the guidance and support I received from Roger very early in my career as a student employee.  He was so passionate about the student experience.  Long after he left the office of student life, I reached out to him to help create the history of student life at Ohio state as part of the north residential district transformation project.  He jumped at the opportunity and it was a joy to reconnect.   Roger was a special person with a special place in his heart for students and student development.  He will be missed.
