Robert C. Wehner, age 77 of Columbus, passed away Monday, September 4, 2023. Bob was born in East Liverpool, Ohio and grew up in Chester, West Virginia, son of Irene (Virostek) Wehner and the late George E. Wehner. Bob graduated from Oak Glen High School, class of 1964, and it was there where he was a member of the marching band and founded his love of playing the drums. Following high school, Bob went on to graduate from Kent State University and then began working at Huntington Bank where he retired from. Bob was a loving, supportive, and caring man who always tried to make others happy. He enjoyed flying kites, was an OSU football fan, and truly enjoyed playing the drums up until his last few weeks of life. He is preceded in death by his father, George E. Wehner and first wife, Mary A. Wehner. He will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 10 years, Yuqing “Elsa” Yan; mother, Irene Wehner; siblings, George Wehner, Suzanne (Bob) Deery, and Holly (Larry) Smallwood; step-son, Pupei Liao; and many other extended family members and dear friends.
Family will receive friends from 9-10 A.M. Saturday, September 30, 2023 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST, 1740 Zollinger Rd., where a memorial service will be held at 10 A.M.
