Robert W. Turner, 75, of Circleville, passed away Thursday, October 14, 2010 at Berger Hospital in Circleville. He was born August 16, 1935 in New Holland, the son of the late Wendell and Audrey (Leslie) Turner. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Jackie Thomas. Bob was a 1953 graduate of Circleville High School where he participated in football, basketball and track. He attended Columbus College of Art and Design. He served in the Air National Guard and was retired from Dupont as a projects supervisor. He was a past Circleville city councilman and had served on the Amanda-Clearcreek Board of Education. His hobbies included fly-fishing and taking his family sailing at Swansboro, NC, Deercreek and Lake Erie. Painter, Sculptor, Dreamer - Bob was perhaps best known for his artistic talent. His works of art have been displayed at various art shows throughout the area and covered a variety of subjects. He will be deeply missed by his wife of 54 years, Marian “Micki” (Richter) Turner; children, Robert B. (Elizabeth) Turner of Circleville, Amy (Greg) Goodman of Lancaster and John (Judy) Turner of Amanda; grandchildren, Victoria and Zoe Turner, Tyler, Sara and Lillian Goodman, and Lindsey (Tony) Miller, Whitney (Jonathan) Podzimek, John Austin and Seth Turner; and great-grandchildren, Elaina and Owen Miller and Olivia Podzimek. The family will receive friends from 2-5 pm Sunday, October 17, 2010 at Defenbaugh-Wise-Schoedinger Funeral Home 151 E. Main St., Circleville.
