It is with sadness and sorrow that I, Robert “Bob” Sanders, announce to all that my time here with you has ended, Friday, January 18, 2013, after my battle with Lymphatic cancer. I was born March 12, 1955 in Greensburg, Pennsylvania to the late Robert and Inez Sanders. I graduated from Gahanna Lincoln High School, Class of 1973 and Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science, Class of 1976. Following college I worked briefly for a few different organizations before finally settling in with Schoedinger Funeral and Cremation Services for over 25 years. While there, I made lasting friendships, was a two time champion of the Annual Chili Cook-off and most importantly, truly enjoyed coming into work each and every day. Some of my coworkers described me as being very helpful and said I had the ability of keeping them on task. They said I could sometimes be a little ornery, but was usually generous, kind, and always cared about the families we served. Personally I am an old hippie at heart. In addition to work, I enjoyed working crossword puzzles, loved my cats and watching British comedy. As I prepare for the next phase of my journey, please come and join my sister and brother-in-law, Vicki and David Groth, their daughter, my niece, Reid Groth, and my very dear friends, Sandy Queen and Terry McGovern in a celebration of my life. I would ask that everyone please bring your fondest memory and funniest story to share as we ring in this new chapter of my journey! The Celebratory Service will be held at 10 A.M. Monday, January 21, 2013 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST CHAPEL, 1051 E. Johnstown Rd., where everyone can come visit my earthly body from 2-5 P.M. Sunday. Pastor John J. Manos will be there to officiate and my final resting place will be at Glen Rest Memorial Estate. My family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the Schoedinger employees and the Schoedinger family, who were such good and faithful friends to me, and to the caring nurses of HomeReach Hospice and the staff of Kobacker House. Memorial contributions may be made in my name to The Capital Area Humane Society, 3015 Scioto Darby Executive Court, Hilliard, Ohio 43026 or to Kobacker House, OhioHealth Foundation, 180 E. Broad St., Columbus, Ohio 43215. If you would like to leave a condolence to my family or share a story, please visit my webpage at www.schoedinger.com. Please friends don’t be sad; the time for tears has passed. I am truly at peace and I know where I’m going. I love all of you and I thank you for sharing your lives with me. Sincerely, Bob.
