Robert Ruby

Robert E. Ruby, age 86, passed away on Monday, April 11, 2022 at Darby Glenn Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Robert was born on November 9, 1935 in Coshocton, Ohio to Elmer and Lurla (Milligan) Ruby. Robert attended Ohio State University and received his PE Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the State of Ohio. He is a member of the former Luther B. Turner Masonic Lodge #732 now Magnolia Lodge #20, York Rite Valley of Columbus and Aladdin Shrine Temple. Member of Glenwood United Methodist Church where he served as Head Usher and Trustee. He loved traveling with Betty, which included Switzerland, Germany and Hawaii along with many other destinations. Robert loved woodworking projects. He built elaborate log cabins and dollhouses for his grandchildren with working electricity. Preceded in death by his wife of Betty; son, David; and his parents. Survived by his son, Doug Ruby; grandchildren, Chelsea (Tommy) Moody, Brennan (Brittany) Ruby, Andrew (Nicole) Ruby and Taylor Ruby; great grandchildren, Grayson and Wyatt; daughters-in-law, Patty and Tammy Ruby. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 18, 2022 from 4-7 pm at Heart and Hope Funeral Home by Schoedinger, 3030 W. Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio 43204 with a Masonic Service at 6:45 pm. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 am, Tuesday, April 19, 2022 followed by interment at Sunset Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made the Alzheimer’s Association in memory of his wife, Betty. Per the family wishes, all guest are asked to wear a mask or a facial covering while at the funeral home.
