Robert V. Priest, age 88, of Bexley, passed away peacefully with family by his side Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at Mount Carmel East Hospital. He was born December 7, 1928 in Lambertville, MI, son of the late Vance and Viola (Nolte) Priest. He was a graduate of Toledo Libbey High School and received a Bachelor’s degree from University of Toledo in mechanical and aeronautical engineering. Robert began his career as an aeronautical engineer with Frederich Fleater in Toledo for ten years moving on to North American as a designer and aeronautical engineer. He retired in 1993 as a field engineer from the Ohio Department of Transportation working mostly as a civil engineer for over 33 years of service. Robert was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather who will be deeply missed by his wife of 6o years, Shirley (Taylor) Priest; three daughters, Janet Myer, Bexley, Susan (Mark) Buechner, North Carolina and Laura (Richard) Letizia, Mt. Vernon, OH; grandchildren, Melissa Mees, Caitlin (Shawn) Hudson, Shawnna Bryant-Buechner, Olivia (Brian) Stepp, Prescott and James Letizia; great grandchildren, Zion Mees-Bauman and Ollie Stepp; other relatives and many friends. Besides his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his brothers, Harold and Lester; sisters, Betty and Bernadine and grandson, Robby Priest. Veteran U.S. Air Force serving as an aviation cadet from 1950-1954. He loved his family dearly and spending time with his grandchildren. Robert enjoyed building many things; his lake house, working in his work shop at home and building planes-he even designed a jet engine in his garage. He was a member of Bexley United Methodist Church, where he was an usher and worked on the mission team. Private entombment. A Celebration of Life service will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 3, 2017 at Bexley United Methodist Church, 2657 E. Broad St., Bexley, OH 43209 where family and friends may call from 9:30 am Saturday until time of service. Rev. Becky Piatt officiating. Contributions in Robert V.
