Robert B. Polacek, age 87, passed away Saturday, February 2, 2019 at Mt. Carmel East Hospital. Bob was born on October 15, 1931 in Chicago, IL to the late Bohumil and Anna (Thomas) Polacek. He proudly served in the National Guard and the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He retired from AT&T/Lucent after 32 years of service. Bob was a former member of the Aladdin Shrine and Reynoldsburg Lodge#340. He loved Alaska and enjoyed woodworking, golfing, fishing, and was an avid Buckeye fan. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Josephine Polacek; granddaughter, Lauren Polacek; sister and brother-in-law, Ann (Helmer) Larsen. He is survived by his children, Gail (James) Ramm of New Albany , Donna (Sidney) Lodrigue of Reynoldsburg, and Bob Polacek of Reynoldsburg; grandchildren, Nick, Matthew (Samantha), Alyssa, Davalynn, and Josie; seven great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews and cousins. Family will receive friends 5-8pm Wednesday at Schoedinger East Chapel, 5360 E. Livingston Ave., where the funeral service will begin at 10 am Thursday, February 7, 2019. Interment to follow at Glen Rest Memorial Estate. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Honor Flight Columbus, P.O.
