Robert J. Peters

Robert J. "Bob" Peters, 84, of New Albany, passed away on August 21, 2018 at First and Main of New Albany Nursing Home. He was born on July 6, 1934 in Cleveland to the late Joseph K. and Julia (Gaida) Peters.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his half-brother Danny Peters.

Bob was a two time Grand Master of the Knights of Columbus, a 34 year member of Church of the Resurrection, where he was very active upon his retirement in 1990 from the United States Postal Service as a manager of Financial Operations. In his younger years, he farmed near Cleveland. He served in the US Army and the US Naval Reserves, and upon his honorable discharge from the army in 1957, he was married to Madeleine (Benson) Peters. He was very artistic, enjoyed drawing, but most of all loved his family.

In addition to his wife of nearly 61 years, he is survived by children James (Sheryl McKee) Peters, Susan (Richard) Scheid and Michael Peters; grandchildren Rachel, Jackie and Cassie; two great grandchildren Dustin, Dylan; one step great grandchildren Alex; sister Lynne (Bill) Brenner; and step brothers R. Louis Peters, Jack Peters, Jeanette Foster.

Visitation will be held Friday, August 24, 2108 from 4-7PM at SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST, 1051 E. Johnstown Rd., Gahanna. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday at 10AM at 6300 E Dublin Granville Rd, New Albany, Fr. Denis Kigozi, Celebrant. Interment will follow at Resurrection cemetery with military honors. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Bob's name to Church of the Resurrection.
