Robin Fritts was born April 15, 1948 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, to Betty and Robert Fritts. He grew up in Cambridge, Ohio playing basketball and running track where he excelled in the Long Jump (his school record remained for many years) and in the Pole Vault which he won All State Honors and also had the school record. After graduating Cambridge High School in 1966, he obtained his Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education from Ohio University in 1970. After two blind dates, he captured the heart of his devoted wife Karen, to whom he was married for 44 years, and had two sons, Dr. Aaron Fritts (Dr. Gopi Shah) and Brandon Fritts and two grandchildren, Jai and Dax Fritts, who will remember him as "Papa". He had a successful 38-year career with Jostens Yearbook Division and retired well respected in his field. He enjoyed playing golf, spending time with his family and friends, and sharing a bottle of his favorite chardonnay with his mother and her husband Jim.
For those who knew him, Robin was a beautiful soul, a social butterfly, and made anyone in his presence feel comfortable, warm and welcomed. He epitomized "cool" with his sense of style and sense of self; his ability to hang alone or with others, he could enjoy the same. Fearless, without a doubt, he had no self-doubt. He opened his heart and mind in any company; he brought fun and joy to all those who crossed his path.
Robin, you made "tweets" cool before Twitter. You made chocolate milk and toasted PBJs a staple. Our radio is tuned to Soul Town. With your "cool," we are strong. You are in our hearts and fill our souls with overwhelming love. May you rest in peace; your light continues to shine on us always.
