Robert B. Clement passed away Wednesday, June 21, 2023 surrounded by his family. He was born on August 22, 1946 in Lima, Ohio, only child to Robert Bernard Clement and Agnes Maude (Rogers) Clement. He is preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Starlett (Scheiderer) Clement and daughters, Arin Clement, Kelly (Peter) Brisker and LeAnne (Bryan) Epling. He is survived by 5 grandchildren, Adryck, Enslie, Boden, Simon Brisker and Vida Epling.
He attended Lima Central Catholic and graduated from Wapakoneta High School. He graduated from The Ohio State University in 1968 in Business Administration. He started his career in Columbus, Ohio at Dresser Industries, that eventually moved him to Sidney to work as a Controller at LeRoi. He continued with his accounting career, culminating in retirement from Ross Aluminum in Sidney as CFO in 2013.
He loved attending Ohio State Football games, especially the Skull Session where he got to watch the marching band up close. He played trumpet in high school and enjoyed supporting his daughters in their high school marching band by driving the equipment truck to all their events.
He enjoyed farming on his family farm in Wapakoneta. He and Starlett owned and operated a Dairy Queen for 10 years in Troy, Ohio. In retirement, he loved road trips, bus trips and cruises. He was active in Jaycees when he was in Columbus, and with Kiwanis in Sidney. He attended Holy Angels Catholic Church in Sidney, Ohio for many years.
Over 50 years of marriage blessed him with 3 daughters of which he was very proud they graduated college and had successful careers – 2 of which did attend The Ohio State University. He was excited to see his family grow with 2 sons-in-law and 5 grandchildren. He adored his grandchildren, they brought a bright smile to his face every time they visited. He was also thrilled to know another grandbaby was on the way.
A funeral service will be held at 4PM Wednesday, June 28th at St Andrew’s Catholic Church located at 1899 McCoy Road, Upper Arlington, OH 43220. Following the service there will be a celebration of life evening with dinner and drinks. Friends and family may stop by anytime between 5-9PM at the Amelita Mirolo Barn located at 4395 Carriage Hill Lane, Upper Arlington, OH 43220. A small graveside ceremony will be held at 10:30AM on Thursday, June 29th at Forest Grove Cemetery in Plain City, OH.
