

Robert John "Bob" Neuman, age 66, passed away on January 19, 2021, at OSU Wexner Hospice Center in Columbus, Ohio, after a battle with cancer. He was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on January 26, 1954. "Bob" came from a loving family; he was the second oldest of four sons. He spent his childhood in Springfield, Pennsylvania; the family moved to Bluffton, Indiana, in 1964. Bob graduated from Norwell High School, in Ossian, Indiana; he was on the wrestling team. He graduated with a degree in Chemical Engineering from Purdue University. Bob lived in Buffalo, New York; Toronto, Canada; Oak Park, Michigan; and Chillicothe, Ohio. He developed a love for the French language and attended immersive language courses in France. After Bob attended the Tour de France, bicycle racing became his true passion, especially Cyclo-Cross races. He competed in numerous races and achieved highest rankings in his age category in Ohio. Bob also committed himself to competing in the Dirty Kanza, a premier 200 mile gravel race. Bob was a quiet, serious, and kind gentleman. He dreamed of returning to visit Kenya with his special friend, Phyllis Abrahams. He was preceded in death by his parents, William L. Neuman, Sr. and Elizabeth M. Neuman. Bob is survived by three brothers, Larry (Diane Mertens) of Madison, Wisconsin; Russ (Paula) of Fort Wayne, Indiana; and Keith (Ricki) of Lenexa, Kansas; nieces and nephews, and his special friend, Phyllis Abrahams of Toronto, Canada.
