Robert Beal

Robert D. Beal, age 73, of Bremen, Ohio, passed away Thursday, May 18, 2023 in Columbus following a short illness. He was born August 4, 1949 in Logan, Ohio, only son of the late Lester Webb and Alene Mae (Farley) Beal. Robert was a civil engineer associate with the City of Columbus with over 39 years of service. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend who will be sorely missed. Survived by daughter, Heather Raile; son, Chris (Star) Beal; grandchildren, Kyle, Hannah, Trey, Natasha, Danny, Keeton and Morgan; great-grandchildren, Orion, Hunter and Autumn; his sister, Connie (E.C.) Andy; nephews, Tad Green, Derek and Devin Cordle; step sister-in-law, Mary Ann Kaliszak. Also survived by step brothers-in-law Michael and Jon Kaliszak; Connie’s children, Bryan (Julie), Angie (James) Poynter; nieces and great nieces and many friends. Besides his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his wife Judith Beal; twin sister, Betty Beal and sister, Rachelle Beal. He was an active member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Lancaster, Ohio where he participated in the Dining on a Budget and volunteered at the food pantry in Lancaster. Bob loved the vacations with his family to the North Carolina beaches, tending to his flowers and taking care of others. Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 pm Thursday, May 25, 2023 at SCHOEDINGER EAST, 5360 E. Livingston Avenue, Columbus, OH 43232, where memorial service will be held 7:00 pm Thursday, May 25, 2023. Interment later at Franklin Hills Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Central Ohio Diabetes Association, 1699 W. Mound St., Columbus, OH 43223, in his name.
