Rita K. Stout

Rita K Stout, 93, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Sunday June 11, 2017. She was born in Lancaster Ohio on September 17, 1923, the eldest daughter of John H. Ferguson and Mary H. (Sullivan) Ferguson. She married US Marine Corpal, Verl D. Stout on June 1, 1946, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. She graduated from Holy Rosary High School about 1941. She worked for the Columbus Public Schools Cafeteria for 28 years. She was a member of Saint Agnes Catholic Church. She enjoyed church fellowships, family gatherings at the house and visiting on the telephone. Surviving Rita are her five children, Cindy Stout Mitchell, Holly Hill, FL; Teresa Stout Findlay (David) Port Orange, FL, Reed L. Stout (Pam) Ostrander Ohio ; Shirley Stout Wells (Michael) Mt. Vernon, Ohio; and Dennis J. Stout, Deland FL. Five grandchildren, Nicky Mitchell Strang (Jonathan), Jesse Stout (Carri), Dustin Stout (April), Sara Stout Sizemore (Jay), Laura Mitchell DePass (Joey). Seven great-grandchildren; Austin Mitchell, Elizabeth Strang, Angelo Carollo, Emma DePass, Holden, Hattie and Hope Sizemore.

Sisters, Colleen Burns and Monica (Tony)Shannon, sister in law Anita (Ron) Raike many nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death, are her loving husband of 46 years Verl D. Stout; her sister Dorothy "Dottie" Ferguson Kurgis; great-granddaughter Sara Cathryn Carollo. Friends may call on Friday, June 16, 2017 from 11:00AM-1:00PM followed by funeral service at 1:00PM at the HOPE and HEART FUNERAL HOME BY SCHOEDINGER, 3030 West Broad St. Columbus, Ohio 43204. Interment will follow at Sunset Cemetery, Galloway, Ohio. We wish to thank Hospice and all the Care Givers and Nurses at Brookdale Senior Living for their kindness and effort.
