Risa Louise Teare

Risa was an avid gardener who enjoyed nature, loved fishing, and was passionate about cats. She enjoyed life, freely shared her robust humor, and helped others to join in with her hearty laughter. Risa was proud to be a department manager for At Home and appreciated the connections she shared with her co-workers, friends, and customers.

Her volunteer spirit allowed Risa to work tirelessly for cat rescue through Cozy Cat Cottage. Risa was recognized for spending time and resources, volunteering at events, as well as caring for and fostering cats in need. Her circle of friends also includes the staff and many volunteers of Cozy Cat Cottage, who provided tremendous support to Risa as she made her way through cancer treatments.

In addition to Gloria Belcher, Risa is survived by her brother Richard and Diane Teare of North Carolina, brother Robert and Ann Teare of Illinois, and sister Becky and Logan Dysart of Ohio. She was very proud of and deeply loved her nieces and nephews: Sean, Heather, Eric, Patrick, Lydia, and Benjamin. Her great-nephew Wyatt brought her joy! Risa was preceded in death by her parents Patricia and Richard Teare.

A Memorial service to celebrate Risa's life will be at a future date. To honor Risa, donations may be made to Cozy Cat Cottage Adoption Center, Powell, Ohio, (cozycatcottage.org).
