Richard Alvin Sheets, 88, of Gahanna, Ohio passed away February 26, 2017. He was born December 17, 1928 to the late Leroy and Neva (Halterman) Sheets; also preceded in death by all nine of his siblings. Dick was a WWII Veteran, U.S. Navy. He was the former owner and operator of Columbus Gas Specialty, Heating and Cooling, until his retirement at age 45. He served as Director of coonhound events with the American Kennel Club and will be remembered as the greatest coon hunter that ever lived. Dick owned commercial real estate, was an avid fisherman and especially loved time in his garden. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 45 years, Joyce (Klein) Sheets; children, David L., Richard S., Richard A., Amy J. Lewis and Bill M.; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, loyal friends including Hollis Warner and special sister-in-law Grace Coleman. Family will welcome friends 5-8pm Friday, March 3, 2017 at Schoedinger Northeast Chapel, 1051 E.
