Ralph E. Robbins, age 74, of Upper Arlington passed away on Thursday, October 14, 2010 at his home. Ralph was born in Portsmouth, Ohio on April 16, 1936; he was the son of the late Haze and Pearl Robbins. Ralph was also preceded in death by his brother Elwood. He is a graduate of Portsmouth High School and went on to serve his country proudly in 2 tours of duty during the Vietnam War; serving both in the Navy and Army. Ralph retired after 15 years of service as the Maintenance Supervisor at Friendship Village of Dublin. He loved college football, especially Notre Dame; had a green thumb in the garden and was an avid golfer. Ralph was a “Mr. Fix-it” around the house and enjoyed grilling. He and his wife, Helen, would make frequent trips to Myrtle Beach. Ralph is survived by his loving wife, Helen; son, Patrick (Grace) Doone; grandchildren, Sean Doone and Heather (Peter) Nightgale; great granddaughter, Taylor; sisters, Sheryl, Polly, Mona, Freida, Rita and Pam; and brothers, Dale, Paul, Stanley and Greg. Family will receive friends on Sunday, October 17, 2010 from 2-4pm at Schoedinger Northwest Chapel, 1740 Zollinger Road, Columbus, Ohio 43221; where funeral services will be on Monday, October 18, 2010 at 10am.
