Peggy M. Miller, formerly of Athens, passed away suddenly on August 31st, 2009 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, following complications she developed after surgery. She was born on January 12, 1931 in Tomahawk, Wisconsin. Preceded in death by loving husband, Richard, of 53 years. Survived by daughters, Joan Miller and Diane (Steve) Strader, both of Columbus, and Janine Cassidy, of California; and a granddaughter, Candice Cassidy, of California. Also surviving are her two sisters, Mary (Jay) Barton, of Lynchburg, VA, and Kathy (Bill) Pritchard, of Charlotte, NC. After graduating with honors from Iowa State University in 1953, Peggy moved to Beruit, Lebanon where she was a teacher at Beruit College for Women. There, she met and married her husband Richard and together they spent a lifetime of traveling the world, including numerous trips related to Richard’s career as a worldwide speaker and lecturer. She received her Master’s Degree in Education in her 20’s while raising her three daughters. Later, Peggy received an MBA from Rochester Institute of Technology, where she was employed by the New York State Department of Agriculture. In 1984, she and Richard moved to Athens, Ohio where she received her Ph.D in Higher Education. Peggy began a successful teaching career in Ohio University’s School of Business. Peggy’s last few years were spent living happily at Sunrise Assisted Living in Worthington, Ohio, where she will be greatly missed by staff and care managers. A funeral service will be held at 1pm Friday, September 11, 2009 at SCHOEDINGER WORTHINGTON CHAPEL, 6699 N. High St., Worthington, where family will receive friends from 11am to 1pm prior to the service. Interment to follow at Union Cemetery.
