Born in Cleveland on September 24th, 1936, she was a graduate of Ashtabula High School, Class of 1955. She lived in NE Ohio until relocating to Florida in 1986. She was a lifetime member of the Order of Amaranth Daytona Beach Lodge #44, where she served as the Grand Royal Matron of the State of Florida from 2000-2001. Over the next decade, she rose within the organization to become the Supreme Royal Matron from 2010-2011. It was during this time that her family affectionately nicknamed her the Queen of the World. She moved back to Ohio four years ago to be closer to her children and grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, siblings, and husbands (Robert V Hakkarainen, Harry L Scott, Dale K Ball). She is survived by her children: Karen (David) Price of North Kingsville, Lori (Bob) Kingston of Geneva, and Robert Hakkarainen of Orient; Grandchildren: Alison Servello, Andrew Price, Kari (John) Hardy, Brad (Brandi) Lane, Jeff (Krystina) Lane, and Austin (Cheyann) Hakkarainen; Great-Grandchildren: Lillian Wood, Evelyn Wood, Emma Servello, Lauren Servello, Kaylee Lane, Eleanor Lane, and Bryce Hakkarainen; several devoted nieces and nephews and dear friends. She will be forever loved and missed by all who knew her.
A private, family service was held and her ashes will be interred at Saybrook Cemetery (Ashtabula, Ohio) in the Spring. In lieu of any flowers, contributions to the American Diabetes Foundation would be welcomed.
