Paul R. McAvoy, died on March 22, 2015 at the age of 88. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. Mac is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Shirley, his daughters, Melanie (Csaba) McAvoy, Marcia (Joe) Papek, and his only granddaughter, Jaclyn Papek.
He was an exceptional man of integrity and intelligence. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Paul, who was also known as Mac, believed in working hard and treating people with kindness and respect. He earned his doctorate from Case Western Reserve and worked for the State of Ohio in different positions over the years. Paul served as the Commissioner of the Ohio Department of Mental Health before retiring in 1984.
Per Paul’s wishes, there will be no funeral or service. He would like everyone to remember him as he lived.
