Paul J. Cassidy

Paul J. Cassidy, 93, of Huber Heights, formerly of Columbus and Grove City, Ohio, passed away Monday, October 29, 2012. He was born June 29, 1919 in Portsmouth, Ohio. Paul was a son of the late Harry and Rose (Montavon) Cassidy. Paul retired from General Electric Supply Company after many years of dedicated service. He was a member at both St. Peter Catholic Church, Huber Heights, and Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Grove City. Paul was a World War II Army Veteran and a member of the American Legion Post 23. Paul is preceded in death by his wife, Doris Cassidy; brothers, Harry (Helen), Charles (Charlotte), Roger, and Richard, as well as close family friend Kate Dawson. He leaves behind one daughter, Barbara A. Cooper (Donnie) of Huber Heights, Ohio and sons, Michael J. Cassidy (Debbie) of So. Riding, Virginia, David P. Cassidy (Eloise) of Grove City, Ohio and Jeffrey W. Cassidy of Huber Heights. He is also survived by six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, one sister-in-law (Mary Cassidy), numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Sincere appreciation goes to the staff at Spring Creek Nursing Center and VITAS for their excellent care and concern. Funeral service will be held on Friday, November 2, 2012 at 1:00PM with visitation one hour prior at the SCHOEDINGER GROVE CITY CHAPEL, 3920 Broadway, Grove City, Ohio. Pastoral Minister, Marti Hurd officiating. Interment will follow at Concord Cemetery, Grove City, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Paul’s name to VITAS Charity Fund.
