Paul Lally Acton, native of Lancaster, Ohio on August 28, 1947, was a resident of Columbus , Ohio until January 25, 2014. In the between time, he earned a Bachelor’s degree from Ohio University in Athens, Ohio, and proudly served his country as a member of the Army in Vietnam. He worked for Standard Oil/BP and G&G Oil Co. of Indiana, where he marketed industrial lubricants.
Paul loved being outdoors, old-school country music, his dogs, and being surrounded by people he loved and who loved him, especially his family and friends. Everyone who knows Paul truly means it when they say, “He is the nicest man I ever met.” He truly was. His warm and loving heart that served him for 66 years ceased beating in the comforting care of Kobacker House and in the presence and love of Barb, his wife of nearly 39 years.
Paul was preceded into his new world by his brave and wonderful son, Michael Joseph Acton (USMC); his brother, Thomas Wiley Acton; niece Vassia Gasparatos, and nephew Ben Van Gundy.
Love for Paul remains in this world in the minds and hearts of his wife Barb; his daughter Jennie (Chad) Elliott; his grandchildren Lilliana Acton, Beau Michael Acton, and Walker and Hazel Elliott; brother John (Jeanette) Acton; and sisters Mary Ann (David) Alexinas; Janet Acton; Linda (Dean) Tennison; sister- and brother-in-law, Linda and Anthony Gasparatos; nephews James Gasparatos (Daniel Pendergast) and Jeffrey Alexinas (Julie Brown) and nieces Jennifer Alexinas (Bill Rotkis), Rachel, Natalie, Nicole, and Julie Tennison, along with many more close and loving relatives and friends.
The family would like to thank the caring staffs at The Laurels of Worthington and Kobacker House, who helped Paul in his transition with caring and grace. They would appreciate any donations to the Lewy Body Dementia Association (www.lbda.org) or to the Kobacker House (https://foundation.ohiohealth.com/programs/hospice-giving).
