Patrick Matthew Hodges, a man who towered above giants, a man of matchless virtue, spotless honor, incomparable mirth and wit and exceeding joy, universally loved, respected, and admired by anyone who spent 60 seconds with him, has departed this earth far too soon on Monday, January 3, 2022 just a day after his 50th birthday. Patrick was born on January 2, 1972 in Moline, Illinois to Nathan And Diane Hodges. Preceded in death by his father, Nathan Sr. and father-in-law, Richard Brown. Survived by the love of his life, Teresa; his children who he adored, Savannah, Luke and Brody; his mother, Diane; siblings, Dan Davis, David Davis, Odie Hodges, Colleen Hickey, Nathan (Jr.) Hodges, Jennifer Hodges, Christian Hodges and all of their families; mother-in-law, Lynne Brown; brothers-in-law, Keith Brown and Kevin Brown and their families. He lived a life that demonstrated the love of Jesus, his Savior, to everyone around him. He was a devoted student of scripture and a spiritual mentor to many.
Patrick was aptly described as a battering ram of sunshine and happiness. Every room he entered was instantly brightened and laughter followed in his wake. If you knew him, you knew you had a friend in him. Despite our loss, he has gained an unimaginable reward. Truly, in his time on earth, he shook the pillars of Heaven. His legend and legacy will live on for generations. To continue Patrick's legacy, family and friends will gather together from 2-4 and 6-8 pm on Thursday, January 13, 2022 at Heart and Hope Funeral Home by Schoedinger, 3030 W. Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio 43204. Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, January 14, 2022 at Zion Christian Fellowship, 10405 Sawmill Road, Powell, Ohio 43065 with Pastor Jim Baker officiating followed by Entombment at Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, many of you have reached out to see what you could do to help his family. Patrick had to spend 3 weeks in the hospital before he passed. A GoFundMe has been set up in order to help his wife Teresa, and their three children with upcoming hospital bills, funeral expenses, and whatever else might come their way in the short term. Patrick loved us well. Let's show his family some support during this unimaginable time .
