Nathan Patrick Courtney, age 23, passed away on Friday, January 27, 2017. Nathan was born on October 22, 1993 in Columbus, Ohio to Craig and Susan (Willis) Courtney. Nathan was a gentle, quiet and sensitive person. He was pure hearted and had a wry sense of humor. He will be missed for his beautiful blue eyes and sweet spirit. Nathan was a 2012 graduate of Metro Early College High School. He worked at Jason's Deli in Dublin, Ohio. Having a beautiful baritone voice, he sang in Capital University's Chordsmen. In addition to singing, he was an excellent pianist and cellist. Nathan was also a member of the Epworth Forest Choir School. He enjoyed the mountains of Colorado where he completed Outward Bound Program. Nathan was confirmed at Upper Arlington Lutheran Church. Nathan will be greatly missed by his parents; brothers, Christopher Ryan (Jillian) and Matthew David Courtney; aunts, Elaine Nelson and Constance (Steve) Staley; and cousins, Nancy Logue, Jeffrey Nelson, Shannon Wood Rothenberg and Stephanie Staley. He was preceded in death by his brother, Adam Craig Courtney; maternal grandparents, Byron and Virginia Willis; paternal grandparents, Samuel and Evelyn Courtney; and uncle, Arnold Nelson. Family will receive friends from 1-3 PM on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at Upper Arlington Lutheran Church, 2300 Lytham Road, Columbus, Ohio 43220, where a memorial service will follow at 3 PM.
