Michael E. Smith

Calling hours for Michael E. Smith, 52, of Newark, will be held on Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at the Criss-Schoedinger Funeral Home, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Michael was born in Columbus on October 4, 1960 to the late Ernest Charles Smith and Ruth (Sagar) Chapman of Hilliard.

Michael worked for many years at Raccoon International Golf Club. He was a member of Alcoholics Anonymous. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, watching baseball, basketball and was an avid Ohio State Buckeye’s football fan. Michael knew no stranger and loved everyone that he met.

Survivors include his wife, Susan M. (Gorley) Smith, whom he married on July 10, 2004; children, Jerica (Tony) White, Megan Smith, Shane Smith and Dalton Smith; siblings, Mark (Jeanette), Chuck (Arlene), Cathy (Tim), Paul David (Jenny), Candy and Wendy; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by his grandfather, Ernest R. Sagar.
