Mike embraced a career of 23 years working with persons with disablities as an employee of ARC Industries. He spent his fall Saturdays and Sundays watching his Ohio State Buckeyes and Pittsburgh Steelers. Mike, an avid outdoorsman, enjoyed the many blessings of Ohio's natural beauty. He spent many years fishing, hiking, camping, and hunting with his friends and family. After several years of fruitless petitioning, he finally converted his "cat person" wife to a "dog person" and together they rescued 3 German Shepherds. In retirement, he rediscovered his passion for playing guitar as well as enjoying fine cigars, overpriced coffee, and watching baseball.
Mike will be greatly missed by his wife Laura, son John, his beloved German Shepherd Mace, his loving nieces Dawn & Kelly. His spiritual brother Larry Wayt and long time friend Suzy Pepper.
In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by sister Joellen and brother Gary.
Private services will be held.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Hospice, or to your favorite animal rescue.
