Mary LaDonna "Donna" Shover, 98 of Columbus, died Sunday, June 8, 2014. A member of the 'greatest generation', she was born January 8, 1916 in Columbus to the late Edward and Mary Ethel (Shoemaker) Andres. She was a 1933 graduate of North High School and a member of St. Matthias Catholic Church since 1962, where she was a past president of the Mellonaires Senior Citizens, a volunteer at St. Ann's Hospital for 30 years, a member of St. Ann's Guild 22, the Star of Mary and a scout mother. Donna enjoyed painting, ceramics, reading, sewing and she loved to travel. She was a loving mother, grandmother and a bosom friend. She is preceded in death by her husband James D. Shover, daughter Sylvia Croswell, son Ronald Bruce Shover, siblings Albert Andres and Awanda Harsha. She is survived by children Dr. James (Ann) Shover, Donna (Robert) Leone, Elizabeth (Jeffrey) Miller and Ellyn (Roderick) Scott, 14 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild, sister-in-law Elizabeth Beickelman, numerous nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends Thursday, June 12, 2014 from 5-8 PM at SCHOEDINGER NORTH CHAPEL, 5554 Karl Rd. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, June 13, 2014 at St. Matthias Catholic Church, 1582 Ferris Rd. at 10 AM. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.
