Mary Ellen Morris

Mary Ellen Morris, age 89, of Mesa, Arizona passed away on Tuesday, December 12, 2023. She was born on June 1, 1934, in Bristol, Virginia to the late James and Virgie (Turner) Wampler. Mary’s main desire was to be married and start a family and she cared deeply for them as well as her friends and neighbors. She did this not out of obligation but because of who she was. Mary expressed her love through her joy of cooking. Her selfless nature made her the first to offer help and always made sure anyone who crossed her threshold was safe, happy and healthy. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert “Gene” Morris; daughter, Rebecca Rose May; and sister, Bobbi Sue Westmoreland. She is survived by her daughter, Deborah (John) Lump; grandsons, Zachariah (Amanda) May and Dalton Laehu; great grandchildren, Ellie and Casen May, Wyatt and Hayden Laehu; sister, Patty (Bruce) Lyttle; brothers, Joseph (Kylene) Hill and Michael (Glenda) Hill; wonderful friends and extended family. A private family viewing will take place Friday, January 12, 2024 at Schoedinger East, 5360 E. Livingston Ave. Columbus, Ohio 43232. Friends may attend a graveside service 2 pm Friday, January 12, 2024 at Pataskala Cemetery, 9545 Creek Rd, Pataskala, OH 43062.
