Our Mom believed in angels and had a multitude in her home. She frequently wore one of her many angel pins on her shoulder and often said that her guardian angel was looking out for her. The Guardian Angel Prayer was one of her favorites. Angel of God, my guardian dear, to whom God’s love commits me here, ever this day be at my side, to light and guard, to rule and guide.
She loved being a wife, mom, and grandmother. She was happy for our successes and shared in our disappointments.
One of her joys in life was shopping. She enjoyed finding gifts and bargains on sale. Even grocery shopping, using coupons was fun for her. Mom taught us how to find a good deal. She enjoyed traveling, anywhere she could go that didn’t require a boat or an airplane. She drove in every direction: to Canada, Mexico, California, and Florida.
Our mother was very well read. Mostly periodicals, newspapers, magazines, and informational books. She was constantly learning and challenging her brain. Perhaps that is what kept her so sharp and well informed in her advanced years. She could fill you in on world events, local happenings, and the newest restaurants in town.
A private family funeral service will be held at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the donor’s charity of choice or to pilotdogs.org or Mount Carmel Hospice, donor.mountcarmelfoundation.org.
