Mary L. Oppenheimer Dougherty, age 80, of Lancaster, Ohio, passed away after a courageous battle with lymphoma the last five years on Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at Pickering House in Lancaster. She was born January 26, 1940 in Hilliard, Ohio, a daughter of Charles Gray and Florence (Harper) Gray Climer. Mary retired from Mount Carmel Hospitals following over fifteen years of service. A devoted wife mother and grandmother, she is survived by her sons, William “Bill” (Mindy) Oppenheimer, Lancaster, OH, Richard (Marla) Oppenheimer, Westerville, OH and Michael (Tracy) Oppenheimer, Hide-A-Way Hills, OH; four grandchildren, Ryan, Jacob, Alexandra and Landon. Also survived by several great-grandchildren. Beside her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband Stephen R. Dougherty in 2015. She loved her family and was always happiest when spending time with her family and close friends. Her family would like to thank Dr. Roopa Srikantiah-Saha and her staff, the doctors, nurses and staff at Fairfield Medical Center and Fairhope Hospice for the loving care shown to Mary. Private Graveside Service will be held at Glen Rest Memorial Estates in Reynoldsburg.
