Martha M. Clay

Martha Marie Clay, 70, passed away Monday, August 6, 2018 at Riverside Methodist Hospital surrounded by her family. She showed great strength through her extended illness. She was born in Circleville, OH on August 19, 1947 to Leland and Katherine (Leasure) Amann. Martha enjoyed gardening and tending to her flowers along with caring for her beautiful fish pond. She also was an excellent decorator and loved crafting. She would make beautiful wreathes and take them to the Pumpkin Show. When she wasn't spending time at home or with family, Martha could often be found at the AMVETS playing BINGO. She loved music and going to watch live entertainment. Martha had a love for animals, especially her dogs who will deeply miss her. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 35 year, Ronald J. Clay; father, Leland Amann; brothers; Ronnie and Jeff Amann and her sister Brenda Amann. Martha is survived by her children, Robert Clay and Rhonda Clay; mother, Katherine Amann; sisters, Phyllis Hamilton, Pam McManes, Kathy Thaxton, and Patty Davis; brothers, Stevie, Danny, Mike and Troy Amann, along with many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends Friday, August 10, 2018 from 4-8 PM at Defenbaugh-Wise-Schoedinger Funeral Home 151 E Main St., Circleville. A funeral service will be held Saturday, August 11, 2018 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with Pastor Dana Clay officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Cemetery.
