Marion Ruth Simmers

Marion Ruth Simmers, age 71, of Upper Arlington, died unexpectedly Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at Riverside Methodist Hospital. She was born February 28, 1945 in Columbus, Ohio. Marion was the longtime branch manager of the Fifth Third Bank in Bexley, retiring as a Vice President after 51 years of service. She will be dearly missed by her loving husband of 37 years, Richard M. Simmers; sister, Larry Kay Gray; brother, Jack E. (Sandy) Robinson; stepson, Skip (Shirley) McGrotha; niece, Catharine Gray (Jon) Schatz; nephew, Dick (Cheri) Gray; other nieces, nephews; great nieces, great nephews and many friends. Preceded in death by parents, Lawrence and Catharine Robinson and first husband, Ronald Merritt. Marion loved to cook, shop and visit the beaches with her family. She had great love for her dog, Katie. Friends may call 2-5 pm Sunday, May 8, 2016 at the SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL 1740 Zollinger Rd., where funeral service will be held 10:00 am Monday, May 9, 2016.
