Mary Elizabeth (Marilyn) Stines Weber, age 103 years, passed away peacefully on April 18, 2023 at First Community Village, Columbus, OH. She was born August 12, 1919 in Dayton Ohio to Archie Lloyd and Mary Helen Miller Stines who preceded her in death along with mother Frances Evelyn Stines and Aunt Emma M. Crockett. On January 14, 1949, in Grace Methodist Church, she married Lawrence Rupp Weber who passed away November 9, 2008. She was a forty six year member of Epworth United Methodist Church and since 2002, of Family of Faith United Methodist Church. Marilyn had been a Cub Scout and Girl Scout Leader, a member since 1936 and past president of Sigma Zeta Beta sorority, past member and president of The Lima Society of Professional Engineers Auxiliary, several ballroom dance clubs, the 1937 Central High School Girls Lunch Group, VFW 1275 Auxiliary, and the Mad Hatters Chapter of the Red Hat Society. She had been secretary to her father at The Oriental Rug Company, and in 1978 retired from Duff Truck Line where she was secretary to Carl H. Koch. She was active in the Lima YMCA, was a member of Sliver Sneakers, and was celebrated on her 100 year birthday by the YMCA community. She moved to First Community Village in 2021, to be closer to family. She touched the lives of many in Lima, Ohio, and again in her final years at First Community Village. She enjoyed her family and a multigenerational circle of friends, with whom she enjoyed conversation, dancing, traveling, dining, and playing cards. Her love, energy, and enthusiasm will be greatly missed!
Survivors are a son Dr. Robert J. (Dr. Margaret A. Turk) Weber, Liverpool, NY; daughters Sharon Becker, Garner, NC and Nancy Klemstine, Dublin, OH; granddaughters Cindi (Dr. Karl) Klamar, Columbus OH and Erin (Kevan) Emmott, Arlington, VA; grandson R.J. (Nina) Becker, Cos Cob, CT; great grandsons Samuel and Peter Klamar, Cooper and Fletcher Emmott, Alexandre Becker, and great granddaughter Kaelani Becker; nephew Douglas Smith, Pacific Pallisades, CA; and niece Marian (Ron) Couchet, Oceanside, CA. A brother Hershal Lloyd Stines died in infancy.
