I will always remember Gertie, she had a smile and hug for everyone.  She was faithful to the church and her family was the most important thing to her.  I am grateful that I got to know her.  Cindy, I am thinking of you and know how much you are going to miss your mom.   Penny Cloud

Mariam u was more then a friend to me, u was like a second mom to me, u had enough love for everyone. No matter where you see me whether it was at church or at a store or if I just came down to your house you would tell me story and always give me a hug and a kiss. My mother is so beautiful ! I talked to her at least three to four times a day. Even if we didn't have much to said, we told one another good nite. I am so grateful to have had a wonderful mother. Before she got sick she came out to stay with me for two weeks. She loved everyday. She told me it was the best medicine ever! I will miss her deeply. I find myself waiting for my phone to ring.We will see one another one day soon in heaven. Love you Mom

Mom you were the best mom ever i love you so much and miss you tons! I Watched you take your last breath and it was very hard but my heart is comforted because i know yourin a better place i will miss you until i see you again?

Gertie was like a grandma to me growing up, she never let Maria and I get away with anything. If we cut school we both got grounded just the same and boy could she lecture you without you even realizing you were getting the lecture but you got the message loud and clear. I remember my first year in Ohio when she found out I wasn't going to have a Thanksgiving because my mom had to work she had Maria bring me there even though she didn't know me well. She invited me into her home and treated me like I was one of the family and she always has. Gertie was smart, funny and quick witted, her family was her pride and joy. Gertie was very religious but she didn't push it on you and was always willing to talk about God at any moment. I remember trips to bingo at the church where we would sit and watch her play, she was quick with that dauber. I have so many wonderful memories of her that can't share them all now but these are just a couple that stand out. I think her greatest legacy other than her family is that once you met her you loved her and were always glad you did. I'm gonna miss you grandma. Love and prayers to all and may you find comfort and peace knowing she is in Gods kingdom with grandpa and they are both smiling down on all of us and happy to be reunited where they can remain forever young and watch out for us all.
