A musician, teacher, raconteur, social worker, realtor, wife, and mother, Maggie was born in Charlotte, Michigan, growing up just outside Lansing. She met her husband-to-be, Ron, while at Adrian College, studying piano and organ. They married and moved to Columbus in 1962, where she taught choral music at Berry Middle School in south Columbus. She then went to OSU for a Masters of Social Work, working concurrently at Methodist Children's Home, going on to put her outgoing spirit, puzzle-solving skills and joie de vivre to work in real estate. She excelled as a realtor - which she did from December 1971 until her retirement in 2016 - being inducted into the HER Real Living Hall of Fame, and receiving the HER Real Living "John Everman Ethics Award," with negotiating skills second to none.
Maggie loved to travel, to play and listen to music, and to laugh with family and friends. Ireland was her spiritual home; she was fortunate to travel there with family numerous times. She sang in the Ascension church choir, led women's retreats, and considered her faith the bedrock of her life.
Maggie will be greatly missed by her husband, Ron; by son, Mark, and daughter Liz and her partner Frank Jaroneski; her brother and sister-in-law Jim and Joyce Burns and their daughters Meredith Burns and Jayne Burns; by niece Kelly Patrick Doelker and husband Jeremy Doelker and great nephew Aiden Doelker; by nephew Brian Patrick and wife Kristi Sturgill Patrick, and all the extended Huff and Burns families.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law, Barbara Burns Patrick and Dudley Patrick.
Family will receive friends from 4-6 PM on Monday, April 22, 2019 at SCHOEDINGER WORTHINGTON CHAPEL, 6699 North High Street, Worthington, Ohio 43085.
