Mao-Hsiung Chen, 77, passed away peacefully on March 17, 2018 in Columbus, Ohio in the company of his family. Born in Taiwan, Mao-Hsiung was the oldest of four children raised by the late Yung-Feng Chen and Tzu-Yen Chen. He graduated from National Taiwan University in 1965 with a degree in medicine, then completed his medical training at Riverside Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. As a staff physician at Riverside Hospital, he received the Annual Award for Teaching Excellence in 1977. The majority of his career as a cardiologist was spent in private practice at Grant Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. Mao-Hsiung will be forever remembered by his wife Ying-Hsueh, his two sons, Michael (Arlene) and Donald (Jennifer), and his three grandchildren, Sierra, Griffin and Toby. He will be greatly missed by his sister Shu-Wan (Gary) Wang, his nieces and nephews, and many extended relatives. He was predeceased by his brother, Andrew C.N. Chen and sister, Shu-Chen Chang. Mao-Hsiung was an accomplished bridge player, and loved travelling, gardening, and reading. He was most passionate about his immediate and extended family, enjoying time with relatives, going on family vacations, and attending his sons' sporting events while they were growing up. He loved preserving these and other family memories through photos and videos. Visitation will be held at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Road, Columbus, Ohio on Saturday, March 31, 2018 from 11AM-1PM. A memorial service will follow at 1pm at the same location.
