Louise Anne Thomas Fenner

Louise was pre-deceased by her husband of 50 years, David L. Fenner as well as her parents, Armett Clair and Louise Veva Shirley Thomas, her older sister, Shirley Hinke, and her great grandson, Jacob Yassenoff. She is survived by her sister, Joan King, children Bob (Mary Kay), Dave (Paula), and Barb (Craig) Renkert. Grandchildren Elizabeth (Erik) Yassenoff, Katie (Mark) Troyer, Tom (Bess) Fenner, Jeff Nygren, Dan (Chelsea) Nygren and Mary Lee Fenner. She also leaves five great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Louise graduated from Columbus North High School and obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree from The Ohio State University where she was affiliated with Delta Delta Delta sorority.

Louise lived a life built upon her foundational belief in Faith, Family and Friends. She embodied a charitable heart and supported numerous charities in central Ohio. From the time she was a teenager she loved spending summers at Platte Lake, Michigan. Eventually she taught all her children and grandchildren how to water ski. In their retirement Dave and Louise spent winters in Naples Florida. All of her hobbies involved doing things for others. She knitted the best dish cloths and always had seasoned oyster crackers to share with anyone who extended service to her. She made “Nana’s Special Cheese” spread for her grandchildren and enjoyed making buckeye candies with them. She loved golf and followed her own instruction to “keep her head down and hopes high”. She played tennis and loved her bridge games. She taught her grandchildren her favorite card tricks. She hosted many extended family holiday meals. When her children brought friends to their home in Michigan, those young people inevitably left wishing they could be adopted by Louise.

Beyond all this, she befriended almost anyone she met and was rewarded in her later years by the support of aides and nurses of First Community Village and Compassionate Care. Her family especially wants to thank those kind and loving souls.

Visitation will be held from 4-6 PM on Wednesday, May 28, 2025 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST, 1740 Zollinger Road, Upper Arlington, Ohio 43221. Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:30 PM on Thursday, May 29, 2025 at First Community Church South Campus-Burkhart Chapel, 1320 Cambridge Boulevard, Columbus, Ohio 43212.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to The Childhood League Center or a charity of your choosing.
