Lisa A. Watkins, age 54 of Columbus, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, April 4, 2015. Lisa was a health care professional and an Ohio resident all of her life. She worked as a respiratory therapist at Mount Carmel Hospital for many years. She attended Grace Point Sanctuary Church.
Lisa loved fine arts, books, music and furthering her education. She spent hours reading books and then discussing them with friends. She treasured a classic given to her by her father, “The Immense Journey.” Lisa also enjoyed reading the Bible and Bible study with neighbors. She was proud of her collection of historical documents and photographs about her family’s history. She was learning new things such as crafting and professional baking.
Animals were Lisa’s greatest passion. Over the course of her life, her animals included dogs, a cat, birds and a questionable hound she suspected was half fox. Her most recent beloved and faithful canine companion was Grover, a Glenn of Imaal terrier who was found by her side after she died. Lisa would be happy to know that Grover has been transported to Minnesota after his original breeder found a “forever” home for him there.
Lisa is preceded in death by her parents Pennell and Mary (Lisk) Watkins. She is survived by her aunt, Margaret (Watkins) Stump, of Kennedyville, MD; three cousins, Susan Storm of Wilmington, DE; Daniel Stump of Raleigh, NC and David Stump of Millville, NJ; and many friends. Services will be private. Visit www.schoedinger.com to share a condolence or favorite memory of Lisa.
