Linda’s passion for travel included trips to Europe and spending time aboard many a cruise ship visiting both cold and warm weather destinations. She also enjoyed spending time in nature appreciating the natural beauty.
Linda graduated from Big Walnut High School and attended the Ohio State University. She had a lengthy career in bookkeeping and retired from the City of Columbus.
Her true passion was singing with the Sweet Adelines of Columbus for over 50 years. She performed with numerous quartets over the years and held various positions within the organization. During this time, she developed many close and lasting friendships. Linda was a very active member of her church and spent many Sunday mornings as a part of the church choir.
Linda is preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, David C. Rightor and brother Emerson Bruce Mathews. Linda is survived by her six loving children Annette (Rod), Christopher (Leslie), David (Karen), Ed (Kathy), Sue (Gary), and Russell. Beloved Grandma to Logan, Christopher, Bo, Eric (Maria), Kimberly, Matthew (Michelle), Jessica, and Bryan as well as 7 great grandchildren and many beloved cousins, nieces, and nephews.
As a family, we are grateful for the fond memories and times spent together. We are thankful for her many friends who supported and loved her over the years.
We will receive family and friends on Thursday, April 3rd from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Rose Run Presbyterian Church, 5220 Johnstown Rd, New Albany, OH 43054 followed by a funeral service from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Linda’s memory to Columbus Chorus - Sweet Adelines International or to the Kobacker House who took exceptional care of her in her final days.
