Linda Henthorn passed away peacefully on Monday, August 30, 2021. She was pre-deceased by her mother and father, Charles and Wylda Henthorn and her beloved Aunt Margaret. She left behind a grateful brother, Tom, who she had helped mightily get through the sudden death of his wife, Sue, in 2019. Linda had been very ill for several years and was thought to be dying in 2018. God had one more task for Linda - to console and encourage her brother when Sue died on March 26, 2019. Linda did her job for her brother very well by constant communication on her cell phone and constant reminders about what was on TV every night. Nothing kept her from her task. Not sickness, pain, or feeling sorry for herself. You see, Linda had both of her legs removed above the knee in 2018 and she was totally bedfast and could do almost nothing for herself. She resided in Otterbein Nursing Home in New Albany for more than two years. I thank God for Otterbein. But she had her TV and her cell phone, and she stayed positive and encouraging until the day she went home to be with her God. She left behind also her loyal and loving nephews, Tom Jr. and Scott, and their wives Elaine and Tina, their children Brianna, Justin, Nick, Kendra, and Courtney. She was loved by all and "Aunt Linda" to everyone. She also left behind many kind friends but the support system for Linda was from God through his carrier, Carolyn Gereg, who wrote to Linda every day. She was Linda's lifeline to the outside world. We will always be grateful to Carolyn for her dedication to helping Linda, even when she had a battle with cancer herself. Another wonderful friend who helped keep Linda going was Ellie Good, who stayed in touch despite many health issues that she had to deal with. Linda had many other friends who she stayed in touch with.
Linda Henthorn was a care giver! From the time that she was a young girl helping sick family and friends to the time she graduated from the Ohio State University as a Registered Nurse she was meant to be a care giver. She had a variety of nursing jobs, from being a nurse at a hospital in Wheeling, WV., to being a traveling nurse going on assignments around the country, to teaching nursing to younger people who aspired to be nurses like her. She was a wonderful, caring person and nurse. It was what she was meant to do, and she did it well. I'm sure God is pleased with her effort and that she is in His hands today. She will be missed but we are just a speck in time and Linda is now in eternity. She is happy.
Arrangements have been entrusted to SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST FUNERAL HOME. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 2, 2021 at Greenwood Cemetery in Bellaire, Ohio.
