Leroy Anderson, age 83, of Columbus was born to the late Ann Williams and Lee Anderson on April 29, 1941. He departed this life on Wednesday, June 19, 2024 in Worthington, Ohio. He was a graduate of East High School where he excelled in basketball and played semi- professional basketball a few years following his graduation. Leroy is survived by his wife of 25 years, Arma Anderson; two daughters, Nikita Anderson and Melanie (Keith) Bradley; beloved grandchildren, Mondale Bradley Sr., David Williams II, Nicholas Williams, Joshua Williams, Kayla Norris, Jack (JD) Cecil, Jr., Breionna Cecil, Royce Mathews, and Michael Anderson; a host of great-grandchildren, cousins, other relatives and many friends. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter Camille Cecil and son Roi Anderson. He was a faithful member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church and the Columbus Bibleway Church. He was involved with the Smith Simmons Scholarship Ministry. Leroy, known by many as “Smiles”, was a soft spoken, happy-go-lucky man with a larger than life personality who would go out of his way to help anybody. He was the owner of TAB & Sons Trucking Company for many years. Family will receive friends from 10-11:00 am Tuesday, June 25, 2024 at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, 1775 West Broad St., Columbus, OH 43204, where Homegoing Service will be held 11:00 am Tuesday, June 25, 2024.
