Lawrence R. Hinzman, 73, of Blacklick, Ohio passed away peacefully May 4, 2018 at Kobacker House. He was born March 27, 1945 in Detroit, MI to George and Dorothy Hinzman and remained true to that team up north (the University of Michigan) all of his life! Larry was a devoted UPS employee, where he worked as an Industrial Engineer. Following his retirement, his passion for history, especially the Civil War period, led him to volunteering at the Ohio Historical Society and Kelton House Museum. He also enjoyed traveling all over the world. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Ronald and grandson, Jason Jr. Larry leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of 50 years, Berniece (Brown); sons Eric and Jason; beloved grandchildren, Megan, Caleb, Amber Grace, Lydia, Aiden and Cooper; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Hinzman, Rosemary Brown (Krishna Poudyal); brother-in-law Ralph (Karen) Brown, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends, including his very special golfing buddies. Special thanks to his doctor and her staff in the thoracic oncology department at The James. A memorial service will be held at 11am Friday, May 11, 2018 at Mifflin Presbyterian Church, 123 Granville St., Gahanna, OH 43230.
