Larry E. Stephenson

Larry E. Stephenson, age 71, of Columbus, died Thursday, March 18, 2021 at Mount Carmel East Hospital. He was born August 14, 1949 in Bowling Green, Ohio, one of eleven children to the late Kenneth and Patricia (Dukett) Stephenson. Larry worked with Lassel and Karst Company for many years. He retired after over ten years with the City of Columbus Department of Public Utilities. Larry will be dearly missed and is survived by his wife of 30 years, Bonnie Stephenson; daughters, Stacy and Heidi Stephenson; stepson, Joey Grashel; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Also survived by sister, Carol Hintz and two brothers, Steve and Mark Stephenson; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends. Besides his parents, Larry was preceded in death by a daughter Aleisha Stephenson; sisters, Shirley Cruz, Sherry Bolden, Joanne Amos and brothers, Bill, Bob, Ron "Dutch" and Richard Stephenson. Veteran of Vietnam serving with the US Marine Corps. Larry was a member of VFW Whitehall Post and active with Veteran's groups. He had a loud booming voice and lit up a room when he arrived. He was a devoted friend and never knew a stranger. Memorial Service will be held 1:00 pm Friday, April 2, 2021 at SCHOEDINGER EAST, 5360 E. Livingston Avenue, Columbus, OH 43232, where friends may call from 12:00 noon Friday until time of service. Attendance levels will be monitored to comply with social distancing and masks by family and friends is required. Pastor Tim Farrant officiating. Interment Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
