Kevin Michael Ortman

Kevin Michael Ortman, age 73, was called to Heaven while surrounded by loved ones, on Saturday, October 7, 2023. Kevin was born on March 10, 1950, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to the late Paul and Shirley (Amon) Ortman. He was also preceded in death by stepmom Chris Gaughran; brother Jim Ortman; brothers-in-law Harvey Tachick, Dick Muehlbauer, and Jerry Johnson; sister-in-law Dolores Tachick; and nephew Jason Johnson. Kevin loved camping with family and friends, time with the dogs, collecting coins, model trains, playing cards, watching NASCAR, cheering for Hank Aaron, and supporting the Green Bay Packers. Back when he was cool, he had a boat, a motorcycle, and was part of a stock car racing team. He had a career managing stores for Kramer Paints and Sherwin-Williams. He was a long-time coach for NCIL and Dominion MS baseball leagues and CBA basketball. For his dedication to the field and players, Dominion MS named the field after him. He was a fixture at any sporting event involving his family or Whetstone HS. Kevin will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 45 years Dorothy (Johnson) Ortman; sons and daughters-in-law Michael (Kristen) Ortman, Nicholas (Missy Marshall) Ortman, Jeremy Ortman and Jeffrey Ortman; cherished grandchildren Troy, Taylor, Aiko, Hanako and Mayumi Ortman; siblings Cathy Muehlbauer, Tim (Jennifer) Ortman and Cindy (Butch) Riggs; sisters-in-law Cathy Ortman and Sandy (Jeff) Peterson; and all his many nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 pm on Sunday, October 22, 2023, at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST, 1740 Zollinger Road, Upper Arlington, Ohio 43221.
