In addition to his wife Arlene (Fox) and twin sons Kenneth and Neal, he was predeceased by parents Vincent and Loretta (Klopf) Stevens, brother (in-law) Dale Hearth, father and mother in-law Henry and Anna (Weissmuller) Fox, and Fox sisters (in-law) Betty Richard and her husband William, Joanne Rostler and her husband Peter, Carrie Osterreicher and her husband Erwin, Emma Lohmann and her husband Wendell, and brother in-law Robert Randall.
He is survived by his two devoted sons: Kent, who resided with him and was his caregiver for the last 24 years and was with him until the end; and Keith and his wife, Ken’s daughter (in-law) Joanne (Machado) of Peterborough, NH, and grandchildren Anastasia and Maclane. He is also survived by his loving sister Mary Lou Hearth, nieces and nephews Shelly Allear (Dean), Michael Hearth (Carol), Mary Tullio (Tom), and Missy (Pam), sister in-law Shirley (Fox) Randall, and 14 loved Fox family nieces and nephews.
Ken was born on May 12, 1929 in Saginaw, Michigan. After graduating from St. Mary’s High School, he stayed in Saginaw until joining the Army in 1951, serving as an MP. After his honorable discharge, he returned home, where he met Arlene. They were married on June 6, 1959. Ken began working for National Cash Register (NCR) while in Saginaw; he was a pioneer in the fledgling computer industry, becoming a field engineer servicing mainframes until his retirement in 1987.
After his retirement, he and Arlene traveled extensively until she was diagnosed with cancer. He became her caregiver until her death in 1996, and remained devoted to her the rest of his life.
Ken was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He was a steady and quiet man; while he didn’t always have a lot to say, when he spoke people listened, and enjoyed his sneaky sense of humor. He was an avid gardener, an amazing handyman who did almost all of his own home maintenance and repairs, and an all-in Ohio State sports fan.
